Trim audio online

Choose an audio file, inspect its real audio metadata, set a range, and create a separate trimmed file.

Cut an audio file to the part you need

Set a start time and an end time to create a separate audio clip from an MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, OGG, or FLAC file. The worker analyzes the actual first audio stream and reports its duration, format, codec, sample rate, channel count, bitrate, and file size before you trim.

Choose the original format or export another supported format. Start and end times are rounded to milliseconds and checked against the analyzed duration. Your local source file is not changed.

Choose a precise audio range

Enter the start and end in seconds. Start may be zero, end must be greater than start, and end cannot exceed the analyzed duration. The service rounds the submitted times to the nearest millisecond.

The browser may preview the selected source format when its native audio player supports it. Preview support does not determine whether the worker can analyze or trim the file.

Keep the source format or export another one

Choose Same as source, MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, OGG, or FLAC. When the format is unchanged and accurate cuts are off, trimming first attempts stream copy; if that cannot produce a valid clip, the worker re-encodes it. Accurate cuts and format changes are encoded to the selected output format.

Stream copy can preserve the original audio stream without a generation loss. Re-encoding settings are selected by the worker for the requested output format; lossy formats can change the audio data.

Uploads and signed downloads

Each audio file can be up to 1 GiB. Analysis sends a temporary source upload to the selected worker and deletes it after metadata extraction. Trimming uploads the source separately and creates an independent processing job.

The completed result is served from the Go worker through a signed download link and remains there until you delete the job or the download expires. The delete control removes the uploaded source and result files from the worker.

How to trim audio online

  1. Choose an MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, OGG, or FLAC file up to 1 GiB.
  2. Wait for the worker to analyze the first audio stream and display its metadata.
  3. Enter start and end times in seconds, then choose the output format and whether to use accurate cuts.
  4. Start trimming and follow the upload and processing progress.
  5. Download the signed result when it is ready. Delete the job's uploaded and trimmed files when you no longer need them.

Audio Trimmer FAQ

Which audio formats can I trim?

You can upload MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, OGG, or FLAC audio files, up to 1 GiB each. The worker checks the actual media rather than relying only on a filename extension.

How precise are the start and end times?

Times are rounded to the nearest millisecond. The start must be zero or later, the end must be later than the start, and the end must not exceed the analyzed audio duration.

Does trimming re-encode audio?

When you keep the source format and turn accurate cuts off, the worker first attempts stream copy and falls back to re-encoding if needed. Accurate cuts and changed output formats are re-encoded.

Can I choose a different output format?

Yes. Choose Same as source, MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, OGG, or FLAC. A format change requires encoding the selected clip into that format. WAV encoding uses RF64 for results above 4 GB, which some older editors cannot open. When trimming ALAC in M4A to WAV, the worker uses PCM16, PCM24, or PCM32 to avoid lowering the source bit depth; WAV from lossy AAC cannot restore details lost in the source.

What happens to my audio uploads and result?

The separate upload used for analysis is deleted by the worker after metadata extraction. Trimming uploads the source again. Its signed result and job files stay on the worker until you delete them or the download expires; use the delete control to remove them sooner.
